PORTE MAILLOT

Use : COMMERCIAL
Location : PARIS ( FRANCE )
Year : 2016
Client : JCDecaux

Design of a commercial building for JCDecaux in the emblematic porte maillot Paris. 8000 square meters with a total height of 9 stories. The building has the goal of integration with the green of the Bois de Vincennes to which Porte Maillot has always been the main access. This integration is done through the sloping roof of the parking lot that connects the building’s first floor above the basement with street level. The building terrace is used to install vineyards that produce wine. The balconies of the building are used as thermal buffers with the help of the green plants giving protection to the glass facade to the north and as shelters to the south. The biggest difficulty has been to design a building that would fit the structural requirements due to the location right above the boulevard peripherique de Paris. The use of a Warren beam has permitted to design a structurally complex building and at the same time iconic as required by the client.
