The renovation of the industrial areas of Poblenou (District of activities 22 @ Bcn) foresees its transformation into the new “District of activities 22 @ BCN”, dedicated mainly to the industries of the new economy, information technologies and communication. In a former alcohol distillery, later transformed into a sugar industry, a built-up set of unusual features has been designed for a special, dynamic and progressive public. It has been pursued a unique and quality result. The project is based on the qualities of the original industrial building, its exposed brick facades, the large windows, the sloping roofs, the recovered trusses and the great interior heights. The old naves are cut vertically with the rhythm established by the trusses of the roof structure, obtaining a total of 29 lofts of two or three levels.
