CALA VIVA

Use : LEISURE / LANDSCAPE
Location : MAÓ ( SPAIN )
Year : 2018
Client : AUTORIDAD PORTUARIA DE BALEARES

Our project for Mahon’s Cala Figuera aims to integrate the cantiles in the urban texture, manage in a different way the road traffic and the pedestrian routes conditioned by the continuity with the Mahón promenade. Pedestrians near the water and boats are prioritized, leaving the exterior perimeter for vehicles circulation. A light, flexible, modular, industrialized and intrinsically changing architecture with a growth potential, is the solution adapted to the requirements of the municipality. A system of light structures like “pergolas” respond to a modular design that allows different uses to be accommodated according to the changing needs of the new space, from being able to keep shelves for dry docks or vehicles in case of need to expand parking spaces to a new public spaces close to the see and protected from solar radiation or rain or simply the plot where to freely locate the watertight cubicles that house all the general and particular services of a “marina” with these characteristics.
