UB ART CAMPUS

Use : EDUCATIONAL
Location : BARCELONA ( SPAIN )
Year : 2019
Client : UB - UNIVERSITAT DE BARCELONA

Can Ricart is an industrial complex built in 1853, once used to make prints. In 2008 it was declared Cultural Asset of National Interest and in successive agreements (2013 and 2015) the City Council of Barcelona, owner of all the properties classified as equipment of the enclosure, ceded to the University of Barcelona. The current situation of these buildings requires a huge process of rehabilitation in order to be able to effectively allocating them to new university uses. Our project will allow the new UB Art Campus to have about 7,800 m2 of roof distributed over two floors. The proposed distribution of the spaces includes classrooms, auditorium, research and creation spaces, work offices, audiovisual resources (laboratories and set, among others) as well as offices and a room meetings but without prejudice to any changes that may be made from the outset of the contents of the project. Another important feature of Can Ricart is its location in the middle of the cultural pole of the 22 @ district.
